Help end world hunger

-* My October…

I set a goal for myself a earlier this month that every month, I’ll find something new that I have never done before.

For October, I ran a Nike+ Half Marathon. My very very first half marathon completed earlier this month on Oct 19. :)

The fact that I ran on treadmill meant there were some “cheating” moments where I was holding on to the rails. But this is the very first time ever that I completed such a distance!!! :) Pretty proud of myself, and I’m going to just be waiting for my limited edition Tiffany & Co. finisher keychain. ;)

-* Back in the Kitchen…

Okay, So I may not be the most domestic lady around, but I figure that my cooking isn’t ALL THAT BAD (especially for my own taste, which — to some people’s standard — might be a little bland, but I prefer to think of it as being “healthy”.)

Since the discovery that there’s another diabetics in my family, we have become much much more health-conscious and as a result, bagan to cook/eat at home more often. And thus, I had the chance to step into the kitchen (sometimes, when my mom isn’t around) to whip up a few little things once in a while…

Here are some of the weekend showcase… :)

PS. hrmf… Still need to work on the focus of my daah-ling… :(

-* Some Work (and other random) News

There’s some new development in my work life today. (No, I have not quit nor have I been fired from the company yet! (Yet!!!)) but there are definitely going to be some changes for my work life during the next 2.5 months. Quite different from what I had thought it’d be.

So, there’ll definitely be more “work” (งาน — ngarn) for me to do, while not so much more of the money (เงิน — ngern) part. Funny how these two words sound so similar in Thai, while one doesn’t necessarily imply the other (although (in my short working experience so far) more money usually does imply more work!!!)

In any case, while I don’t want to get into the details of my work life on this blog, for those of you in Bangkok (or Korat, for that matters), if you’d actually like to help me make the next few months of my work life a tiny bit easier… feel free to ask me on im or anything!!!!

I had pretty much been absent from the online world for the past few days. No, I had not been enjoying the long weekend away anywhere last weekend (5-7 April) nor am I planning to go away anywhere during the long weekend this weekend (12-15 April). Since I got back from my little adventures at the book fair on Saturday, I had pretty much fallen ill, and besides having to be on bed for almost all of Monday that I had off, I also had to take another day off on Tuesday and spend it completely in bed as well. So there, that was my first fever of the year 2008. And HOPEFULLY, that would be the last as well!

I did manage to finish a few books so far this month. One of which is The Godfather, which may be the reasons why I was also feeling nauseated on top of the fever I had. (Gosh! some of the details… add that to my livid imaginations, and I could imagine some blood splattered across the pages!) So, after finishing that book, I had to quickly find something light to read.

But yah, so I added 4 more books to books list.

-* My 2008 Running Goal

Earlier this year, I decided to pick up on my running again, after having almost completely ignored my Nike+ for most of the later half of 2007…

I started running a few years ago (about 2005-ish?) as a mean to another end (my 2005 mid-February resolution to improve my state of well-being), and since then, it has pretty much been on & off (& on & off & on & off & …) since.

At the end of last year, I decided to make the new year resolution running-centered. So, I set a rather ambitious goal for this year and publicly declared to a few people that if I do not make the goal this year, I’m going to quit eating beef for the rest of my life!!! (Oh why did I do that….?)

After a very successful January, a sluggish February and a very lackluster March, a quarter of the year has come to an end, and I have hardly made 21% of the goal I set. )’:

It’s become obvious that if I don’t pick up my pace, I’m probably going to have to hold true to my words and quit those juicy steaks. >.<

So, be my witness and help support me through this goal. (; I’ll keep my progress posted here as a way to motivate myself.

PS. And no… this is NOT an April Fool’s joke… I *will* really quit eating beef if I don’t make it to goal…….! d :
