My first experience getting the peel off mangoes was a complete DISASTER!!! It surely looks easier when other people do it…
Luckily… the mango was for mango lassi in the maiden trial of my brother’s new blender… so it really does not matter how *absolutely horrendous* the thing looks. :)
For future reference, the ingredients are:
1 cup of yogurt
1/2 cup of milk
2 mangoes
a tad bit of salt
served with a lot of ice
For the next time though, I think I’ll use the cut-mangoes from supermarkets instead of having to peel them myself!

Pealing mango should be easy no? You just… peal… it…. off…. right??
Thanks for the recipe. I’ll try it sometime. Does this make one small cup, or…?
And what’s with the salt?
>> ChaCha: Well… it was definitely harder than it looks… at least for me… maybe because the knife was blunt? and the mangoes weren’t 100% ripe…
The recipe made a bit more than that glass… about 1.5 of that actually.
And no clue what’s with the salt… read *somewhere* that saltiness is supposed to accentuate the sweetness of the food even more… while sweetness is supposed to bring out the spiciness even more… But don’t ask me what’s the logic in *that*… ^^%
I never knew you need a knife to peel those mango skins… I always just use my hands….
i’ll try it sometime… when I find some quality mango around here
>> ChaCha : I have never seen anyone peeling mangoes by hand!!! Or maybe that only works when it’s completely ripe enough?
and if you can’t find quality mango around there, you can always come here. (;
Chacha: I’ve never seen anyone peeling mangoes by hand! How do you do that? Post some videos! ;)
