I REALLY don’t get all those fuzz about the date 29th Feb. I mean, SURE it’s a day that comes by once every 4 years, but dates like these are arbitrary anyway. So, why be so hyped up about it and all that?

What I *REALLY* don’t get is the comment that people make about having a birthday on February 29th! “Oh, I think it’s great to have a birthday today because then you won’t age as quickly” or “Oh, I don’t want to have a child born today because then I won’t know how to count his age” or “Oh, I’m actually 7 years old today because I was born on the 29th Feb, 1980″…

I mean… COME ON!!! Hasn’t anyone noticed that people count the age in the unit of years and not of birthdays!?!?!?! No one I know would ever say “I’m xx birthdays old”!!! So it DOES NOT matter how many actual BIRTHDAYS you’ve had, the number of years in your life is still not going to be effected!

If I hear anything in the TV/radio about this whole Feb 29th and age again, I think a vein is going to pop somewhere in my head. *sigh*

On a lighter subject, I heard on the TV this morning when I was heading out the door about a tradition that in the times of strict courting rules, 29th February is traditionally the only day on which women can propose marriage to the men.

So, yah, maybe 4 years from now… if I become desperate enough….. *laughs* j/k, of course… I wouldn’t do that anyway. d :
